COMPLEX SYSTEMS PERSPECTIVES ON EDUCATION AND THE EDUCATION SYSTEM

Overview:
Individual human beings are highly complex and together they form yet more complex socio-economic systems. Our current school system, with its successes and failures during the industrial era, may not be well suited for the post-industrial information society. Even if some aspects of it will remain, others must change. Learning from trial and error in keeping or changing the education system may take generations. The science of complex systems may provide a more solid foundation for our decisions. In order to foster an active inquiry into the many facets of education and the education system, we have invited individuals to contribute perspectives to be posted on our website. We welcome additional contributions.
