This program will discuss how the principles, concepts, and insights from the study of complex systems allows managers to use key information successfully, create adaptive organizations, simplify operations, reduce errors, and increase productivity within the uncertain environments of their own organization.
After this presentation you will be able to:
- Gain the perspective necessary to see your actions in relation to the system that provides care.
- Discuss health care quality and the origins of medical errors.
- Describe the mechanisms by which systems (not just individuals) can learn to reduce the frequency of errors and improve the quality of care.
